Meet client dog Rocky! He is pure love and joy. ❤ We worked on basic skills such as name recognition, coming when called, sit and wait, drop it and leave it, and go to bed/lie down/stay.
Rocky was recently adopted, and very fortunately did not come with any behavior issues. I'm always grateful when clients are proactive and contact me for training before there are any issues to try to prevent them from occurring in the first place. Well done to Rocky and his new mom! ❤

Meet client dog Lustau! ❤ My clients have two Yorkie brothers that I worked with - Lustau and Remy - and their mother has their brother Ezra who also made a guest appearance in one of our lessons. 😀
We went over basic skills like come and touch, wait and stay, lie down, leave it and loose leash walking. We also went over Lustau's "barking", which to my surprise was more like "screaming", specifically to other dogs. Reactivity is not my area of expertise but I was able to help improve upon Lustau's big feelings (though he's still a work-in-progress).
I have to hand it to Lustau's mom who has been beyond patient and persistent in improving her boy's behavior - for his emotional well-being and otherwise. ❤

Meet client dogs Hayden & Basil! ❤ Hayden is the little, big sister and Basil is the big, little sister. 😁 We went over sit and wait, leave it, come and touch, loose leash walking and barking. Hayden barks for attention and Basil barks excitedly at people and dogs.
The girls are doing so much better! My clients said that even the neighbors have noticed and complimented them on their improvement. That makes my heart happy! ❤ The only thing left is to reduce Hayden's weird obsession with "helicopter" leaves.

To be fair, those helicopter leaves are pretty fascinating to dogs, and to children of all ages.

Meet client dog Gus! ❤ We went over how to reduce jumping (I know, shocking that a Golden Retriever would jump!), drop it and leave it (especially outdoors where he thinks it's an all-you-can-eat buffet), come and touch, and wait and stay.
Two key points for Gus and dogs who are like him:
1. enrich the yard with lots of toys and activities (more than you think you'll need) otherwise the dog will invent his own games like eating things you don't want him to or digging, or other things we deem inappropriate. My clients saw a huge behavior difference once they did this, and didn't rely on using drop it/leave it continuously.
2. don't call your dog to you ONLY when he is being "naughty" or when it's time to go inside. Practice and rehearse BEFORE you need the behavior for a real reason, and make it lots of fun and rewarding.
Gus (and his people) and are doing better, and it was a joy to work with this happy, smiley boy! ❤

Meet client puppy Mars! ❤ It was such a joy to work this sweet little munchkin. We went over 20+ questions on new puppy stuff, as well as potty training, reducing nipping, jumping on people and furniture, and every puppy parent's favorite: drop it and leave it.
Mars's parents were amazingly proactive in contacting me for guidance and to schedule training sessions before they even brought him home. That's the way you set a new puppy up for success! ❤

Gorgeous dog!
So cute!
Mars’s expression says, “Yup, I’m set up for success. I just keep winning, winning, winning!”
The best parents!
